I haven’t read the book for a long time, and can’t remember the answers to all these questions, but I think Mr laurence doesn’t like Laurie to play the piano because it reminds him of his daughter who used to play it and died. And I don’t think the girls expect Christmas presents from Mrs March because she is too poor. Jo’s greatest disappointment is, I think, that she wasn’t a boy so she could go and fight in the war. Beth is the peacemaker in the family. Jo burns her dress by standing too close to the fire (a habit of hers). Mrs March gives the girls’ Christmas breakfast to a poor family. I think it’s Mr Laurence who sends the girls a Christmas dinner.

I should read the book if I were you, it isn’t bad really and not too long.
