how do I incorporate christmas ornaments into my centerpieces?
without looking overly christmas-y. I have a large collection of modern and beautiful christmas ornaments that I’ve collected over the last two years. The colors are varying shades of gold, brown, silver and ivory. They are beautiful, some frosted, some glittery. My wedding color scheme thus far is silver and gold. I just got a great deal on gold charger plates and its all coming together. My wedding is mid-November, so I THINK i can pull off pulling in ornaments into my centerpieces. My question is how to do it. Ive never seen it done, and I’d love some ideas and suggestions. I am doing this wedding on quite the budgets and being able to utilize some things I already own would be fantastic. Ideas and suggestions are very welcome and appreciated!
There is a new color bmaid dress out, it is truffle, light chocolate, if you haven’t ordered yet, which you probably have. Beautiful. What I was thinking, saw this design at a wedding one time. Have four eight ft. tables put together to form an x. Where tables come together have another table in the center of this open space+ can put all together like + or put corners together and leave this space in the middle. Florist had a tall round clear cylinder filled with green apples and a giant red rose arrangement coming out of the top of it. Beautiful. Was thinking for food tables or whereever you can use the largest arrangement, fill with ornaments and have arrangement at top, have cream and brownish roses with some gold ting ting, little curyl stick with curls at end. Chocolate roses here sometimes turn out dark yellow, so double check colors if you were to go this route. Can use low arrangements on other tables, attach ornament to covered styrofoam and place them around a low squatty candle or candle in a small glass cylinder. Or for a large arrangement, buy a large pretty basket at Michaels, etc. and spray it silver or gold whichever you want and put newspaper in it to fill almost to top, then put ornaments in and have silver or gold Christmas beads running thru out. Or can have basket turned on it’s side with a pretty bow and streamers like ornaments are spilling out of it and onto table. Or simply put different ornaments in pretty glass bowls, mix or have one color per bowl and buy tulle (fine net) and drape around tables and pull up with a bow to make it cascade and have the tulle the same color as the ornaments in bowl or cylinder and have silver and gold and creme and brown tables all around. Could buy a plastic cake stand or make out of styrofoam and cover with silver or gold foil and have ornaments in ice cream soda fountain glasses in stand or have three on each table with an ornament in it and one on top of the three. A punch bowl full would be pretty with beads and ribbon and some ting ting coming out of. Around punch bowl could have twelve or so glass punch cups and have an ornament in top of each cup also. Also old style champagne glasses would hold an ornament and could put one at each setting. Could put the colored cut like paper that goes in gift bags in bottom, like gold or silver and have it just a little clumped in the glass and stringing out like a nest and put ornament in glass. Would have some base to it to give it a little pop instead of just sitting in an empty glass. Same with small rounds of tulle. Put ornaments in a clear glass plate can use plastic, squatty kind not tapers too tall, don’t like too dangerous, and put a collar around base of candle, aluminum foil, but doesn’t have to show so ornaments won’t get wax on them, easier than trying to put on styrofoam. Use lots of ribbon and lace also, pearls, etc. Good luck!!!
