If you have a Webkinz Pet of the Month but don’t adopt it until later, do you still get the special stuff?

Say for instance that I just bought a Golden Retriever which was the Oct 2009 Pet of the Month. It is now mid-November. If I adopt it now, can I still get the special loot box? Would it make a difference if I waited until after Christmas? I think they would have to allow the following month to be included if you didn’t get the pet until the last day of the month. I’ve read all over the internet that you need to adopt it during the month, not before, so I’m just trying to get the after portion specified. Thanks.

no, you must adopt the Pet of the Month during that month to get the special loot bag. If you adopt the Golden Retriever now, you will not get a loot bag.
The current Pet of the Month is the Pug. December will be the Koala, and January is the Schnauzer.
