Can we all remember to pray for those who help others at Christmas?
I’ve just come back from visiting my husband who is in hospital and it made me realise how much we depend on the professionalism and dedication of others – doctors, nurses, surgeons, firemen, air/sea/mountain rescue volunteers and the police (yes, the guys who have to sort out the carnage after road traffic fatalities and domestic/child abuse, etc). Sometimes we take them for granted.
Can we remember them in our prayers, especially over the festive season when they will be working? Let’s thank God for the invaluable service they give to society and (in some instances) for putting their lives on the line to help others.

Yes, some on here don’t believe in prayer, we know also prayer with out works is dead, and prayer changes me not God.
There are a lot of care takers to be thankful for and prayer honors them. As well the sorrowful in our world is overwhelming, hunger, abuse, war and all else.
So those that don’t believe prayer does not help, so be it.
But don’t knock it prayer does not hurt any thing either.
