I have thousands of very old stamps that have gotten stuck together. Help me save tham!?

They are from the 1920s and on. They were sorted and labeled in special envelopes which we thought would keep them safe. They were in a box in a room that got very humid for a few days. I found them today, gummed and stuck together. How am I supposed to salvage these?? There are full sheets stuck thgether also in a 1 inch pile, beautiful christmas seals even. I am crushed.

They will be no good as “mint” stamps (glue intact) anymore—you will have to soak them in lukewarm water to get them un-stuck from each other—-not too many stamps at once, be sure to use enough water.
But they are fine as collectible stamps for albums (if you’re not fussy about the glue-backing.)

Some people also put stuck stamps in the freezer—you might be able to save some in this manner, carefully prying them apart after they are frozen.
