Perhaps you’ve always had an interest in history. You may be a model boat builder looking for a new change of pace. With the growing number of model boats out there, you may not realize that submarines are part of that family. For the history buff or those interested in this very rare breed of model boat, a submarine may offer the challenge and alluring final product that you are looking for. Most certainly a submarine is one type of boat that has a story behind it, and building one can help you to recreate it.

Perhaps it’s the intrigue of a Russian submarine that has always captured your attention. Maybe you were moved by the classic story of Captain Nemo by Disney. Whatever your reason, you have arrived at the conclusion that submarines are not only something that interest you but something that you must collect. For many model boat enthusiasts, putting together this treasure offers a unique challenge. You may already have many model boats in your collection, but adding a submarine takes it to a new level. When you build a submarine, you are saying to the world that you seek a challenge and that the standard that everyone else has just won’t do.

There are options out there, many of them. You can get into a lot of detail with the submarine model that you choose to build. You can even choose a model that is static or radio controlled. These models are usually much larger than your typical model boat and therefore require a whole new level of patience and detail. This is a perfect choice for you to show off your skill. It’s also excellent if you want to mix your love of history with your model boat building ability.

There are a wide variety of different eras of submarines out there. You can build everything from a US Naval model to a Russian submarine. As with model boats in general, there are groups and communities out there that you can join. The submarine community is a different group than your typical model boats, but they too can provide insight or a sounding board when necessary. This is a network closer than most that can offer friendship amongst others embedded within this hobby, a nice feature to have when you need somebody to answer a question or guide you in the right direction.

There’s no doubt that model submarines take things to a new level and can offer you the challenge and historical twist that you’ve been looking for.

Victor Epand is an expert consultant about model boats, boat parts, and model submarines. You will find the best shopping at these sites for model boats, used boat parts.

Active duty members of ‘The US Armed Forces’?

Question from an old soldier. Does the Armed Forces Radio Network still play Christmas Carols during the Christmas Season? I ask because people here seem to be trying to get rid of all mention of ‘Christmas’ on the airwaves. They were a comfort to me on the ‘Grenz’ at one time so I am naturally curious now. This is not a trick question, I am a retired First Sergeant and I would like to know.

Merry Christmas! Thank you for serving our country and hope you’re enjoying retirement. I don’t know about the radio stations, however, this morning I saw at least channels on cable TV that had the U.S. Armed Forces Christmas Specials. They were re-running the National Christmas Special on PBS and their were other specials, too. :D

Another great place to shop for Christmas Radio Network products is Amazon. They have more than just books!
