We”ve included some information on each page for your reading.

As we mentioned in previous article, we know that our government only represents about 30% of our retirement income, the company retirement pension plan offers another 30 % and many of us do not have one. It is up to individuals to invest wisely short and long term in order to make up for the short fall if he or she would like to live comfortably after retirement without giving up some retirement plans. In this article, we will discuss how to manage cash management efficiently with good budgeting and how to monitor the result.

I. Budgeting

Cash management includes simplified cash-management plan and comprehensive cash-management plan consisting of 3 activities of preparing and following a budget, setting up automatic payment of your bills and automatically or manually transferring cash form one account to another.

a) Simplify cash-management plan

The simplest form is to set aside a 10% of your income for savings before you start spending on daily living expenses as we mentioned in previous article, pay yourself first.

b) Comprehensive cash-management plan

Comprehensive cash-management plan begins with an analysis of current cash flow, then projects your future income, the rate of return on your investments, expected cash outflow etc.

II. Monitor the result

Monitor the result and make adjustment to the plan if necessary

a) If your credit-card use is excessive, break your card-bill down according to expenditure category.

b) Always remember that a department credit card costs you 29% in interest charges and they’re charged on the initial amount of your purchase.

Example

Let’s say you purchased $2,000 of goods at a department store, and you’ve made three month payments of $100 per month. While you only owe $1,700, the department store is still charging you interest on initial $2,000 until you pay it off entirely.
