We are having a wedding in September out on a farm. We have ways of running electricity out to the area. We want the party to last until 10 pm but it will be pitch dark at 7:30. What are some ways we can add enough light for people to see. We most likely will not have a tent unless it rains. We do plan on stringing alot of christmas lights and rope lights, but what other sort of lighting can we use to make it where we can see. Our rental company has no suggestions for us, and it’s the only one in the area.

I used luminaries to light up pathways and to outline the area I used flood lights upwards from the ground. Makes an awesome atmosphere. Lanterns or luminaries on tables with flameless candles are perfect. Some type of lanterns in groups of threes in various lengths are nice.

Small white or color lights are another option. If you planning on having music and dancing, check with a staging rental place for a lighted dancefloor, really makes a statement. I had rented a chandlier for the center pole of the tent once. Another lighting, use lots of candles, tea lights, or something similar all over. There are ways to hide electric and revamping the traffic pattern to keep guests from tripping on cords and such. Be sure to use a heavy duty extension and power strip for the lights. Use your imagination.
