Well I always enjoy sugar cookies in the shapes of Christmas/winter objects–bells, stars, mittens, snowmen, etc. (see the first link below for a set you can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond); I also included a link for sugar cookies I found, though I’ve never tried making them that way, so good luck if you do . You can decorate them with frosting (mix food coloring in so it is fun colored) and/or colored sugar. Everyone loves tasty, colorful goodies. (easy frosting recipe is the 3rd one… also never tried this, but figured I’d include one).

You can also always have hot chocolate (include some godiva liqueur [4th link] that the adults can add if you want–my family loves that; my fam also likes to at creme de menthe). Include marshmallows, fluff, whipped cream or cool whip as well as sprinkles to make the hot chocolate more fun! I know many people also like to stir their cocoa with candy canes to give it some extra minty flavor an flare, so you can try that as well (I’ve done it, and it tastes really good).

Another easy recipe–my friends and I make these for all our holiday parties. Get a bag of pretzels, m&ms and some hershey kisses. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Put the pretzels lined up on a baking sheet, and put a hershey kiss on each one. Put the baking sheet in the oven for 5-10 minutes (basically you want the kisses to retain their shape but still be mushy). Then remove the cookie sheet and place one m&m into the top of each pretzel. Let them cool, and voila, you have m&m pretzels! They are delicious and super easy/cheap to make; you can just throw them in a bowl, and they are colorful and much more fun to eat than regular old pretzels. I found a picture of what they look like on the internet (see 5th link), except that we use regular pretzels rather than waffle shaped ones.
