Is Christmas Eve Family tradition a thing of the past?
This is the email from my sister who for 15 years has ALWAYS had christmas Eve family parties at her house.
I’d like your opinion on how I should reply to her.
Hi Guys,
Wanted to run something by you but please give me your honest input..what are your thoughts if we had our Christmas Eve celebration not on Christmas Eve but on either Dec 20th or Dec 21st. or even the 22nd or 23rd (although I knwo for some of us the week is hard due to work schedules) Reason for the inquiry is that we have been graciously invited by the Allen family to join them along with some other families for a traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinner that celebrates the 7 Sacraments.
And if we don’t want to break tradition we could also do an earlier time here on Christmas Eve….a lunch around 12:30 if that would work…..or I tell the Allens we cannot make it & keep things the usual.
Please let me know your thoughts.

my parents and brother have always spend christmas eve together since i can remember! and spent christmas day with our other relatives like aunts and uncles and stuff. My brother and I are much older and have our own lives and families now, but we always reserve christmas eve to spend with our mom and dad.
I dont think your sis should break tradition. Or else next year she might do it again, and again and your tradition will be lost forever. Family First. always remember that. and remind her too!
