What is the best combination of alcoholic drinks to serve at a Christmas party?
I’m throwing a small party, 8 people – guys and girls, and I’d like to serve punch, shots, and beer, and would like them to all be Christmas themed. All three selections need to have a broad appeal and should be made using readily available product brands.
The hard part: I’d like people to be able to sample all three without getting sick, so I don’t want any two drinks to have a huge contrast, like a fruity punch and a milk-based Bailey’s shot. Oh, and no eggnog 
Please list your shot and punch recipe, and beer recommendation. I’ll choose the most appropriate Christmas themed combination as the answer.

I’d either skip this “shot” nonsense, or drop the pretense that you’re not going to be drinking sickness-inducing amounts of alcohol, regardless of the type… “Sample all three”…. who are you kidding? I hope you have a plan for cleaning up all the vomit. This sounds like a college drinking party, in which case you might as well set up a bar and let people pick their own poison and stick with it. I’d offer beer and punch. Period. Otherwise, someone’s going to get sick. Sounds like that’s almost your intention. If anyone’s driving home and they get pulled over or end up in an accident, you can be held responsible. You know that, right?
