Why do other religions freak so much about displays of Christmas and other Christian holidays?
The reason such displays are so ubiquitous is that municipalities have taken these displays and these holidays and “secularized” them, so that everyone gets to ooh and ahh over Santa Claus and his reindeer and people seem to forget that he isn’t the “reason for the season.” I bet if someone tried that with Hanukkah, Jewish people’d be all up in arms, and rightfully so. Why do Christians just have to shut up and take it?
Most people of other religions *don’t* freak out about it, it’s just a handful of whiny people who can’t stand to have anything any way but exactly as they want it. And so they cry and moan about how their rights are being violated by someone else’s free practice of religion. And because our modern culture is one of ‘if anyone is offended it’s YOUR fault and you have to fix it’, instead of recognizing that these people are self-centered manipulators, stores actually take the religious-themed stuff down in order to avoid offending these people.
Heck, most of the people I know of who are offended at Christian-centered decorations aren’t even from other religions. They are either ‘Christians’ who are more zealous about preaching ‘tolerance’ than practicing their religion, or atheists who are intent on destroying the free practice of religion in this country. (I’m NOT saying that all atheists are like this, either, just the ones who are part of that small handful noted above.)
Another great place to shop for Christmas Other Religions products is Amazon. They have more than just books!
