Christmas music from the 70′s?

OK 40-somethings, put on your thinking caps… My Mom used to play some of the most incredible Christmas music when I was growing up. I have been racking my brain trying to remember the artists who recorded it. I remember Herb Alpert’s Christmas albums, Mantovani, Fiedler’s Pops albums and she played the Carpenter’s too.. What I can’t recall is a beautiful Chorale album she played with tight harmonys and incredible voicing that is just stuck in my mind… I think they recorded some pieces from The Sound of Music, but I have in my head a Sleigh Ride/Winter Wonderland combo that was very pretty and haunting. If you are in your 20′s or 30′s, I doubt you would have heard it… but if you grew up with LP’s and the old console stereo systems, you just might have. HELP!! It’s in my head and it won’t come out til I find it!

Maybe a Christmas album from The Lawrence Welk Show? Try doing song searches on iTunes or youtube. I almost always resolve my song quests on those.
