I can describe the latest release from Smooth Jazz sensation Craig Chaquico for you with just one word… Outstanding!

I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Shadow And Light. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Craig Chaquico’s most impressive releases ever.

If you’re a Craig Chaquico fan, or just a fan of Smooth Jazz music this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

While the entire album is outstanding the truly standout tracks are Hurry Home [track 5], Keepers Of The Flame [track 5], and Compared To What [track 9].

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 10, Cafe Carnival. Wow!

How much do music re-mixers make?

I’ve been asked at someone at my church to do some remixing of tracks for our Christmas program. She has given me the split-track versions of the song and would like a demo version (with the vocals and music in both stereo channels) and an accompaniment version (with just the music in both stereo channels). What kind of compensation or billing should I submit to her? What hourly rate should I ask for?
I’ve finished making the CD. It took me about four hours, plus I had to buy a $29 program.

you’re probably not a sound engineer by trade, so i probably wouldnt charge more than about min. wage + the cost of the program.

i do a lot of audio work, but since i’m not established or have any degrees/certificates i do a lot of it for free. this is also something to consider seeing as how its for someone at your church.
