The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Freddie Hubbard has released him CD entitled Face To Face. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Freddie Hubbard fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Face To Face Freddie Hubbard’s artistic excellence is on full display as Hubbard has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.

The CD kicks off with a great track, All Blues, that I suspect will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It really is a very nice track.

Face To Face is a pleasantly varied, mix of 5 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly talented artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

I give Face To Face my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.

While the entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 2 – Thermo, track 3 – Weaver Of Dreams, and track 5 – Tippin.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – All Blues. This is a great track!

Is learning to play guitar EXTREMELY hard?

I just got my acoustic guitar for Christmas. I start lessons when I go back to school. I know I won’t get good at it quickly, but I just want to know if it’s really really difficult. I already read music, know treble clef and have good rhythm. I’ve played trumpet for 5 years and am 2nd chair in my section. Music isn’t something I’m strong at, but it has been awhile since I’ve had to be a beginner. I’m at a slight disadvantage because my hands are tiny. Will this affect my ability at playing? Just help me out a bit please. Will it be really hard?
i know i won’t get good quick, but will it be really hard to just play simple stuff and make stuff up. i can sorta tune it without help. please, i would like more detailed answers. not yes or no. thanks

Its not EXTREMELY hard, but its not easy. At first you will find that it is quite hard. But after your first few lessons, and a lot of practice, it should be getting alot easier (not easy, just that you get used to it). Small hands CAN affect your playing ability, but alot of famous guitarists dont have the biggest hands neither. I guess with perseverance youll get the hang of it. What I recommend though, is to place your index finger on the first fret of the Low E string, then your middle finger on the 2nd fret of the Low E, without lifting your index, that way your kind of stretching your fingers. Then your next finger on the third fret, and your pinky on the fourth fret. Keep in mind that you cant lift your other fingers. Then repeat that on the A string, then D, then G, then B, and then High E. Do this for about 5 minutes each day. After about 2 weeks, your fingers should be moving along that guitar with obvious ease! I hope I helped.
