I was 9 years old on October 13, 1997 my Dad saw it on CNN.com and mentioned it to me. This was the same day “The Wonder Years” premeired on Nick at Nite and I watched it that night.

I felt bad: I always liked his music and he seemed like a nice guy; he died violently in a private plane crash and it was a sad ending to a man who brought a lot of happiness to many people.
