Questions about moving my iTunes music to a new computer.?
I’m getting an iMac for Christmas, and I want to transfer all of my songs on iTunes onto it. The only problem is, I download songs from iTunes, take them off of CDs, rip them off of Youtube and write/produce my own music. Hunting them all down is going to be a pain in the ass. Not to mention all of my iTunes songs can’t be licensed to a new computer because I had my hard drive on this old piece of junk I’m using now replaced 2 times and I pulled them off of my previous computer as well.
So here are my questions:
1. Is there a software that can grab all of my songs on iTunes and put them into 1 folder so I can put them on my portable Hard Drive and put them on my mac?
2. Is there a software that can convert all of my encrypted iTunes songs to another format, or just take the encryption off without sacrificing too much sound quality?
3. Can I upload all of my music to a database somewhere online and download it from there?
I can only answer the first question – I recently moved all my itunes music to another computer. All I did was make a new folder on the desktop of my old computer, drag all the music in there (it takes an hour or so), put that folder on a harddrive, and transfer it to your laptop.
Also, it’s possible to “de-authorize” computers, that’s what I did.
