In Country Music How old is consider a CLASSIC?
I have close to 6,200 songs on my computer and I’m trying to put them in categories by Classic Country, Autographed Country, Country Christmas, Country Gospel, ETC. and I’m kind of stuck on the Classics I don’t know where to start at PLEASE HELP.
Dang – that’s some collection!
I’d use a system of different criteria that the song must meet.
1. Age – if its was within the past 15-20 years, then its probably not been around long enough.
2. Was it a hit? – Kind of speaks for itself. A 25 year old chart topper may be a classic. A “B-side” probably isn’t.
3. Who did it? – Hank Williams had a lasting impact on music. Bubba Jones Jug Band – not so much.
4. Can you still hear on the radio and find it in the store? I don’t mean all the time – but every so often.
If it meets all those, like say “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” would – then I’d stick it in the Classic folder.
