There is also the fact that many popular game titles like Mario Brothers became popular with both boys and girls. So don’t just assume that you will only have to buy a game console and video game for your son this Christmas.

Fashion is becoming a big trend with toys and games that are based on it. Shows like America’s Next Top Model have shown the growing interest in fashion. Now there are many toys that allow girls to experiment with makeup, make jewelry, and even decorate their clothes. These toys are become increasingly popular and parents should look out for them to become hot items.

Something that won’t change is movie toys. Like boys who buy Transformers after seeing the movie or buying Hulk punching gloves there are movies that girls like that will influence their choices in movies. One to look out for this fall is a new Disney princess movie, The Princess and the Frog. This is one of the first traditionally animated movies the company has made in quite a while and more importantly will introduce a brand new Disney Princess, Tiana. Look for toys derived from this movie to become very popular as the movie come to theaters later this year.

Great homemade gift ideas for dad from a teenager?

I’m a 14 year old girl and the other day I asked my (very cheap) dad what he wanted for Christmas. He said that he would love something homemade. I was looking forward to this and thought it would be really fun and special to give my dad something thoughtful and creative. So I went online and searched “homemade gift ideas for dad”. All that came up was craft ideas for little kids to do. I’m not looking for that. I want to do something really creative and challenging, something that he’ll remember. I was thinking of making a movie, but I have no clue what to make it about. Does anyone have ideas of what to do for a movie? Or any ideas on other projects for my dad? Or even a website that has ideas that are not directed at young children?
