Old kid’s movie from the 80s- about a toy chest or something?
I have been trying to find this movie that I remember watching all the time when I was really young. All I remember is this old guy who has this room filled with toys and when he leaves for the night, all the toys come alive and there is some scene with a carousel towards the end…it’s driving me nuts that I can’t remember- it wasn’t an animated movie. Any ideas?
I also do remember like 2 more movies..I want to say it was all produced by the same company. The one was a Christmas movie, with tiny people living in the christmas tree.
*And now I just remembered, for the scene with the carousel, the toys had to get the key for it to work and the key was pretty big*
*The more I think about this, the more scenes that pop in my head-lol. But anyway, one of the last scenes, all of the toy dolls are dancing around to some children’s music and you can see the old guy coming back to the room and they all get scared and stop dancing and run to get back in their places.
There are 2 movies I can think of that may fit your ddescription:
Nutcracker, The (1978)
tree shoots up to the sky and all the toys come alive
“The Secret Life of Toys” (1994)
A group of toys (including wise old Balthasar the bear, ‘plush’ Rugby the tiger, Raisin the doll, and Mew, the cat’s toy mouse) come alive at night.
