I noticed these places never close and they are open all the time even on Christmas, late early in the morning, and all holidays:

First question:

Hospitals: Because someone can get sick at any time, day or night, including holidays

Casinos: Because they make more money that way.

Hotels and hospitals (24 hours a day question): Because sometimes someone needs to stay for days at a time

Airports (24 hours a day question): Because planes traveling from other parts of the world arrive at all times, due to long flights and time zone differences.

Hotels, airports (holiday question): To accommodate holiday travel

Drug stores: Because sometimes there is an emergency and someone needs medicine in the middle of the night or on a holiday.

Second and third questions:

Hospitals – They transfer the patients to other hospitals by ambulance. The staff drive in their own cars (or walk or take mass transit).

Airports – They tell the planes when to stop landing at the old airport and start landing and the new or temporary airport. Any planes that are at the airport when the transitions occurs are flow from one to the other. Passengers are not transported from one of the airports to the other. Passengers go to/from whichever airport their flight is using.

Drug store, grocery store, diner, etc. – They do not have thousands of customers in one diner!
