Alright, I posted a question yesterday regarding this.. i’ve done a little more research, so im going to post another question.
I’m making a video out of all of the videos I have of my friends and I over the past year as a Christmas present to them. I’m using Windows Movie Maker, and so far it has been going great. However there are so many little icons in my task bar at the bottom of my screen… The red ones say “FFv” and the blue say “FFa”. When I mouse over the red, it says ffd video decoder, and audio for the blue.
Can someone please tell me what these are? Also, if I am able to get rid of them while still having a fully functional movie maker?
Oh and one of the clips is slow/freezing as I play through what I have so far. I didn’t have very many little ffv/ffa icons until I got to this clip, and then I got another 20 or so. Now they wont go away, even when I’m not watching that specific clip. Can someone please help me out? D:
Those are the decoders being used for the video file. Don’t delete them. You may not be able to play the video/audio anymore if you do.
It sounds like you have a codec pack installed. I have K-Lite codec pack installed and get the same icons in my task bar when I play or convert a video or audio file.
Your problem most likely has nothing to do with those icons, but with Windows Movie Maker. I’d try another program. Not sure exactly what you need, but check out these programs. Super and AVC can merge files if that is all you’re doing.
