Enliven the spirit of Christmas with a couple of fun games for children. Here are two delightful Christmas Party Games that can be played with any number of children.

Sea King Christmas Party Game

In the Sea King Christmas party game, one player is selected to play the role of the “Sea King” whose duty is to stand in the center of a circle, formed by the rest of the players seated around him. The circle should be as large as possible. The game continues with each player choosing the name of a fish. The ‘Sea King’ runs around the circle calling each player by his/her fish name.

As the King calls out their names, each player gets up and follows the Sea King. Once all his subjects have left their seats, the sea king calls out, “The sea is troubled”, and sits on a seat immediately. Following his example, his subjects also rapidly seat themselves. The player who fails to get a seat has to take the place of the Sea King and the game continues.

Sally Water Christmas Party Game

Sally Water Christmas party game is an enjoyable game, with a lot of singing and dancing involved. Children will love to play this Christmas party game. The game begins with the formation of a circle by all the children except one little girl who kneels in the center. The children then dance around the girl singing the following rhyme.

“Sally, Sally Water, sprinkle in the pan,

Rise, Sally, rise, Sally, for a young man;

Choose for the best and choose for the worst,

And choose the very one you love the most.

Now you’re married I wish you joy,

First a girl and then a boy;

Seven years after, son and daughter,

Pray, young couple, come kiss together.”

When the second line is sung, the child in the center rises with the cue “Rise, Sally!” and chooses another child from the circle. The children then sing the remaining lines of the verse and the two children in the circle dance round and kiss. Sally then joins the circle while the second child remains there and plays as Sally. The Christmas party game continues and goes on till all the children have acted the role of Sally.

If you had to pick just one thing to do on Oahu, what would it be?

My son, 20, is in the Coast Guard, currently stationed at Barber’s Point. He is leaving in late December to continue his rescue swimmer training in North Carolina and will probably be stationed somewhere other than Hawaii after that. For his Christmas present I’d like to get him a gift certificate for something cool to do on Oahu before he leaves. I was thinking possibly a luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Or maybe shark diving. I would like to pay for him and his girlfriend and need to stay under $300 for both. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The cultural center is cool but maybe not the coolest thing for someone who’s 20 years old. Shark diving is fantastic and quite a thrill for someone who’s that age. Also, the helicopter rides that go over the islands are really quite spectacular for a person of any age. Last time i was thee, i paid $225 for a fantastic aerial island tour via helicopter ($225 was for my wife and i). I think you’re on track with the shark diving and i really liked the helicopter rides, the only other thing i can think of is a trip to Molokini Crater…the snorkeling is fantastic, the swimming is great, even the boat ride is fun.
Theres some info on it on this site:

Im not sure if i helped or not…the Molokini Crater is actually more of a Maui thing, but its really great and quite i sight to see.
