I’ve actually been knitting for a few decades now. What started out as a hobby, became an interest of my childrens’, and eventually became a business for me.

I can honestly say that it’s been a blessing since it happened. I am not very business oriented and actually began knitting when my children were younger and at home. Knitting shawl pieces and other clothing was a very therapeutic activity. It gave me a chance to be creative and to do my own thing for a while too.

Basically, it gave me time for myself… which I so needed with four children in the house with me!

My business began years ago when I started knitting shawl pieces for my daughters while they were in junior high. The girls absolutely loved them and wore them to school throughout the fall and winter on basically a daily basis. The shawls caught on and I was literally knitting shawl pieces for all of their friends (I have three daughters!). You can imagine how busy I was!

Eventually, one shawl was not enough so the girls’ mothers began to call me and request if I could continue

knitting shawl pieces for them. They themselves even promoted me in the girl scouts troop and PTA meetings to knit for fundraisers and events like that.

I started knitting shawl pieces for fundraisers, gifts, and to sell during the holidays and at the local crafts market.

I now continue knitting shawl pieces and sell them in my own knit boutique! I was very blessed because I was able to learn the essentials of starting and running a knitting business [http://www.knit-instructions.com].

What should I knit my parents for Christmas?

I know it’s a little early, but I’m not a fast knitter. O yeah, I can knit just about anything beside a sweater, socks (I tried socks once…didnt come out too good) and gloves. Please give me some suugestions. And I could also make something for them thats creative. My parents love when I use creativity. So please help me think of something. Be creative! Thanks.
