Can I put a thinker paper to print in my hp printer?

I want to make some postcard for this christmas. I have created some drawings in adobe illustrator and i wanted to print them out. I bought some paper(as thick as the greeting card on the market) should I try to print it? (but I don’t want to ruin my paper…) Any advice?

No, I didn’t look up the specs for your printer.

Generally, if you want to do this regularly, you purchase a printer with a straight through paper path so the printer isn’t struggling to bend the paper as it feeds it. unfortunately, straight through paper paths do not seem to be common last time I looked.

If your printer is one where he paper feedis about 45 degree up, then give it a try feeding it through. On some printers,if you hold the paper feed long enough, it will feed a sheet through. If it does, then it may be able to print on it successfully.

The next problem you will have is whether there is sufficent clearance for the print heads. sometmes they can dragon the paper. Usuall problem is smudging, but occassionaly they jam. you will jst have to try it and see.

Note, do not wrench the paper out if it jams. A power off and power on may fix any problem. Just try gently freeing it up if it doesn’t. The worst case is you will have to cut/tear little pieces of paper away to clear it.

The last problem might be the pper itself. Some thicker papers bleed and it looks slightly blurring over time.

Other papers are coated and can slip, and the ink doesn’t absorb into the paper. You might need to adjust the amount of ink being delivered, even create a custom paper, if one of the presets doesn’t match. Some papers have to be stacked seperately to dry for a day.

OH, dear, is this an all in one with the paper try underneath the output try?

If the paper really is card thick, I doubt if it will work. The manual says that your card can have a maximum weight of 200gsm, which is very thick card, so I’m head scratching here.
