Is it okay to hand out invitations for my daughter’s birthday at our family’s Christmas gathering?

I have already mailed out most of my invitations. But, the ones that I have left are all for my family which I will be seeing for Christmas in about 5 days. Is it wrong to do this? I’m just not sure if anyone would think it was rude of me. Oh, and by the way, this is the side of the family that I only see at Christmas time. So, we aren’t all that close.
I forgot to add that it is my daughter’s first birthday. Since it is a special occasion, I feel they should be invited. One more thing is that I am not giving the invites just to get gifts, I could care less about that. I just don’t want them to be like, “hey, how come we weren’t invited?” I feel if I don’t invite them I am rude.

It’s best to mail the invitations. You would put people on the spot; if they received an invitation in front of others.
