Westerners & Ramadam v Muslem & Westerners?

Why is it that if you are a westerner / non Muslem and work in the middle east the way they set things up with the no resturants, no eating and drinking during the day and working hours they force Ramadam on you, but in the West we can not force the Christian Holidays on them as it is not correct!!! Should we being a Christian Country still ( England i am talking about) be able to force all the people in all shops including Muslem shops display Christmas trees in there windows, close down any Halal food shops over the Christmas period and make it law for everyone to wear Santa hats! Dont you think that would make it fair?
I have traviled a lot and am working and living in a Muslem country by the way thats why i am a tad peed off at the whole shove it down your throat Ramadm. Last time i looked England was a Christian country as well!

Actually, I don’t believe any Western country would say it is ‘Christian’, even if there is a large Christian population and the laws are based on religious laws. Most Muslim countries however are rather tolerant. I live in Asia(but not a Muslim country), and in school we have Halal stalls, but they still open to cater to non-Muslims, or to those who don’t fast due to health reasons. Such countries who force everyone to follow their religious laws are just being overzealous, to make sure Muslims don’t not fast. I’m sure you can eat, if you bring your own food. Of course, common courtesy would dictate that you don’t do it in front of those who are fasting. How would you like to be seeing food only to not be able to eat it?

Like you said, its not fair, so how can we treat the Muslims that way just because somewhere else Muslims are doing it to you? If that happens, we become no better than those overzealous fools who think themselves the centre of the universe.
