Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas?
Hi there,
My Mum wanted Under Milk Wood for Christmas, (the book). Is there a difference between Under Milk Wood: A Play for Voices, and just Under Milk Wood? I’m also looking at the Audio Book read by Richard Burton- is this read from the script of an actual play, or from the original book.
As I hadn’t really heard of it before, I wasn’t sure if it was a story, or a play.
Can someone please enlighten me?

I actually performed in “Under Milk Wood: A Play for Voices” 
And no, there is no difference between just Under Milk Wood and the play. Dylan Thomas originally wrote it as a radio play and it was later adapted onto the stage. I would highly reccommend the Richard Burton reading…it is what I used to familliarize myself with the script while performing. The book is actually the script of the radio/stage play. Although Dylan Thomas is best known for his poetry, I believe that this play outshines all his other works. It is fantastic and I hope your mum enjoys it!
