What is it like living in a warm place at Christmas?

I always wondered what it was like to celebrate a green Christmas year after year. Where I live we always have snow and it usually freezing cold out. On Christmas cards and other decorations that we purchase around here they are always “winter” themed (snow men, santa’s sleigh on a rooftop covered in snow, a picture of a house with snow in the yard and a warm fire place burning). What are the themes of your Christmas cards & decorations…does that change by location? I think it would be kind of neat to celebrate Christmas in a warm, green place once in a while but do you feel like you’re missing out on anything by not having the cool weather and the snow?

I’ve lived in Florida for almost 17 years and I’ve never seen snow. So every Christmas I’ve ever had has been green. There’s been times when I went to the beach the day after Christmas, and there’s time when it’s in the 30′s. So it changes every year. Most of our Christmas cards and decorations have snow on them, but then again, we have just as many Christmas cards and decorations that aren’t. You can drive down the road and see big blow-up decorations of Santa in a tourist outfit. But yeah, I would love to have a Christmas with snow.
