Could I leave my grapevine wreaths up year round?
I’m planning on using grapevine wreaths on my front doors and front windows of my house this holiday season. I plan on leaving the door wreaths up and changing the accents and bows from season to season.
I was wondering if I could do this with my window wreaths as well? I live in a historic victorian home with lots of character and charm. Its very quaint B&B style in appearance, brick and trim is painted in a forest green, burgundy and white trim.
I’ve seen other historic homes in my area with wreaths or swags up year round but have been afraid to try it myself. If I were to leave them up, what season changes could I make so that it doesn’t appear as if I’ve forgotten to take down my Christmas Decorations six months after the holidays?
Yes you could–if the decoration was just wired or velcroed on and not glued.They have green velcro tape for tieing up plants which would be ideal for this. It’s strong and comes on a roll you cut to size. I have used the same tape outside for 3 years. I suggest you buy your wreath undecorated, and use the tape to add decorations of cones and balls and even pointsetta flowers. A red ribbon could be wound through the vine. Change the ribbon at easter for a yellow or mauve one and some eggs and bunnies. Change it in the summer to a pink or blue one and add some flowers to match and fall and halloween to a fall color etc.
