Is it a big deal that my son likes to make the Christmas reindeer decorations hump?
My son is a good kid, makes good grades, has a job, is an active member of the family (meaning he doesn’t shut himself up in his room like other teens) but at christmas time he thinks it is funny to walk around the neighborhood and rearrange the lighted christmas deer so that they look like they are humping. He is not damaging the deer, just moving them.
The other day as we were driving we saw a pair and I started laughing uncontrollably. My husband didn’t think it was funny that our son might have committed this prank (I didn’t laugh in front of my son). Would you think it a big deal? He is 16.
Well, Sandy K, aren’t you just the shining light of the Christmas spirit? If you had actually read what I wrote you would have seen the part where I mentioned NOT laughing in front of my son. If I were truly despicable and void of the true meaning of Christmas perhaps I wouldn’t be questioning this childish prank?
If he is doing fine in all other aspects of his life, then no. This is a typical teenager thing. They think it’s funny, and as he matures more he will be like, “What was I thinking?”. Nothing to worry about.
