Maybe the leggy Uncle Sam could still serve at least as a centerpiece on picnic tables. Some small reminder of the true meaning of Independence Day can be implied with flags. Wind socks of old glory or toothpicks bearing tiny red, white and blue paper flags inserted into cupcakes may be all that is needed.

Regardless of Independence Day celebration plans the most important thing is to be armed with the right answers when children ask about fireworks and so on. They often don’t know what the symbolic importance of these routine holiday elements represents. Questions always occur to the tiny ones so plan ahead with good answers.

This may be a good occasion to read bedtime stories about the founding fathers. It could simply be enough to discuss these matters in the car while driving to the beach or town fireworks display. The importance is that children understand the reason for the parties and frivolity is really a very serious one.

I’m so excited about Christmas! I’ve already asked about how to decorate my small townhouse for halloween. I LOVE decorating! Christmas is my favorite though! This is the first year my hubby and I will have our own house or townhouse/apartment to decorate! I’m so excited so I just wanted to know what is everyone’s Christmas decoration plans?? Just want to hear some cause I’m so excited lol!
Oh and also how many of you like the weeks leading up to christmas? You know after you put up your tree? (well depending on when you put your tree up lol) My mom always put ours up after Thanksgiving so I think I am too. (Gives me longer to enjoy the christmas decorations lol)

Hey =] Im 17 and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas! lol My family start preparing for christmas as soon as the shops start filling up with christmas stuff lol which is usually round late september early october we put our tree up on the first of december lol we dont really have a theme its just a whole load of random christmasy decorations lol we also love decorating the house the more the better lol we hang coloured fairy lights from our huge deck and we put the light up santa/reigndeer/bell/snowman things in our lounge and conservatory windows so you can see from the street and we hang coloured lights around the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms, lol, we put tinsel everywhere, we hang wreaths on the door, and we put more lights on the tree lol we display the all cards in the lounge we start singing christmas carols randomly we take trips into the city at night as theirs one particular street which has all the houses lit up for christmas theres even a guy there who gives hot chocolate to everyone lol and we go see all the other houses that are lit up for christmas another awesome thing about christmas is all the christmas movies on tv and new ones that come out lol and all the baking/shopping and on christmas we all go to our grandparents with all the rellies and we all party till long after midnight! Haha Im excited already lol I I swear Im like a big kid I just LOVE LOVE christmas! Happy Holidays! Have a great Christmas!
