Over time, Jake Sully changes from a tough marine who has only joined the scientific team for selfish personal reasons into a warrior that passionately cares about the Na’vi people and the injustices being done to them by the human race. Neytiri at first is suspicious of Jake and only teaches him about their ways because her mother has ordered her to do so. Over time, she falls in love with him, mates with him and goes on to help him save her planet.
