Opinions: Christmas wedding?
Christmas is our favorite season, so we were thinking of our wedding being between Christmas and new years (because right before Christmas we are way too busy). So we are thinking maybe Dec 30, 2011, with about 90-100 guests.
First, do you think this is a good idea? Second, color scheme: I was thinking gold and red with accents of silver, green and white. I do want this to be sort of Christmasy but not over the top. Like I am not going to have snow men or a really glittery–anything. So if I do the bridesmaids in golden dresses and red flowers would this look non-tacky? I guess I am just going for class and while it is Christmas I don’t want it to be a ‘theme’ just more of a palate.

The only green would be the greenery in the flower arrangements.
I think the gold is beautiful with red flowers. I would totally avoid any sort of “winter wonderland” theme since you specifically said you did not want it to be tacky. If the church happens to have poinsettas and a tree then that is fine as it will hold true to the season with out adding in an artificial feel that having a tree at a reception would do.
I think the gold and red as the primary colors is perfect. Using some little silver things such as flower containers is a good idea, but I would avoid using lots of silver. For instance if you have a red cloth with a silver container filled with red flowers on the table with gold chargers it will all flow nicely together. I can just see some beautiful candles and maybe even favors wrapped like presents in gold and red. Beautiful!
