Why do so many people like Tim Burton movies?

I’m not asking because I hate his movies or anything, but I’ve noticed that a lot of more (and I use these terms loosely) scene-ish, emo-ish, skaterpunk-ish, goth-ish, punk-ish type kids I know love Tim Burton. They especially like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. I thought maybe people liked The Nightmare before Christmas so much because they saw it when they were a kid and loved it (I never saw it when I was a kid so I wouldn’t really know), but there’s a girl I know who says its the best movie she has ever seen.

His films have great visuals in them. It’s like a dream.
